Bump tests, full calibration intervals and what Indian plant safety audits typically expect from your records.
A bump test before every shift confirms that sensors and alarms respond to gas. A full calibration adjusts the sensor response against a certified span gas and is normally performed every 3 to 6 months, or immediately after a failed bump test, a sensor replacement, or exposure to a high concentration event.
Most plant safety audits in India ask for three things: a documented calibration schedule, dated certificates for the span gases used, and per-instrument records showing who performed each test. Docking stations make this easier by logging every bump and calibration automatically.
If your fleet is spread across sites, standardise on one detector family so gas mixes, sensors and spare parts stay interchangeable.
