Core analytical, sample-prep and safety equipment every quality-control laboratory should budget for.
A quality-control laboratory typically starts with an analytical balance, pH and conductivity meters, a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, a hot air oven and a muffle furnace. Sample preparation adds a homogeniser, centrifuge, water bath and vacuum filtration assembly.
Do not defer safety infrastructure: a fume hood with certified airflow, an eyewash and safety shower, chemical storage cabinets, and a fixed or portable gas detector where solvents are handled.
Budget for calibration and traceability from day one. Certified reference materials, calibration weights and buffer solutions must be in place before your first accredited test run.
